Part 3-2015 Romance Writers of America Conference

I’m furiously working on the second book in the Captain’s Orders series, but didn’t want to miss the opportunity to share my first RWA conference with you. I could just sum it up in one word - Wow! - but that wouldn’t give you any idea of the fun I had and the knowledge I sucked up. So many of my favorite authors in one place -- here’s part 3!

Bright lights, big city! The 2015 Romance Writers of America conference took place in the Marriot Marquis hotel, right on Times Square. Talented writers shared their secrets and expertise!

Bestselling author Maya Banks, author of The Breathless Trilogy and many others, held an event at the historic Algonquin Hotel in New York City. This famous mural shows the 1920’s and 30’s authors who used to hang out here.

Maya was so generous with her time to both her readers and other authors. She also accepted a copy of Captain’s Orders and asked me to sign it to her!

Some of the best workshops at the conference were taught by Kristan Higgins, humorous bestselling author of Waiting on You and many others. We are also pictured with Tracy Brogan, author of Crazy Little Thing. When I showed up at one of her workshops for the third time, she joked “You again?!” I was that person in the front row with lots and lots of questions!
